What is a giclee? (gjee-clay)
I have a few Giclee's for sale.
The term Giclee (which derives from the French verb for ‘Gicler’ meaning ‘to squirt‘) is a high-resolution digital reproduction of the original painting.
The canvas/paper is individually hand mounted onto a drum that rotates during printing. It sprays a fine stream of ink which has been custom set, using precise calculations of hue, value and density.
Unlike flat prints, Giclee's render deep, saturated colours and have a beautiful painterly quality that retains minute detail, subtle tints and blends.
Each giclee printed bears my unique signature which authenticates each reproduction of the original painting and to confirm that it has been reproduced to my complete satisfaction.
Limited edition reproductions have never been so collectable. The faithful translation of original paintings into limited editions enables an artists work to be enjoyed by more collectors.
